Help Start a Photography Club

My Students

With less and less for students to do during their free time an opportunity to be involved in a club where a click and a flash can create a sense of confidence and accomplishment is something that you cannot put a price tag on.

My students come from various backgrounds and for most, my high school art class is the first time they have had the opportunity to have a visual arts class.

Understanding that for the majority, this is their first art experience, I do my best to introduce them to a wide range of art mediums and styles. Unfortunately being a small school there are only so many opportunities that we can provide. Also not all students have the opportunity to take an art class. As of right now we have an art club and my club members expressed their interest in starting a photography club. This photography club would provide another opportunity for our students to explore a medium in which they have not had the opportunity yet to pursue. It also provides a chance for all students to get involved in the arts.

My Project

With these materials my students will be able to start the photography club that they want here at the school. This will give all students in the school an opportunity to get involved in the visual arts. A photography experience is something that the students do not currently have available to them here at our schools. Photography is a medium that all students enjoy and can benefit from learning about. Also a photography club would give students a chance to participate in another extracurricular activity; an extracurricular activity that would give students a positive place to be after school.

This photography club that we would be able to start with these purchases would touch the lives of all students in the school who have an interest in the photography medium.

The materials to not only learn the medium but also a positive extracurricular activity to take part in during their free time. Words can not express the impact in which the camera and SD card could have with many students.
