My students or "my kids" are a great group of kids who love to learn. We start our day at carpet time where we sing and talk about good things that have happened in their lives. We love to dance around as well so that we can get our brains activated to learn! We love to have a good time!
Our school is a friendly one and community where everyone knows each other.
The teachers are there for each other if we need an extra hand. My students love to help each other and will be the first to "run to the rescue" to any visitors in our room to show them what to do. They love reading to one another and making puzzles on our carpet. They are a very active bunch and love to play but they also know when it's time to work and do a great job at it! We love to learn new things and make sure we have fun while doing so!
My students need: 1)Language and Reading Teaching Manipulatives 2) Real Life Math problems and board games 3) Wireless Eggspert Classroom Game System for group learning. The new materials that I have requested for our classroom my students would use during center time as well as teacher center time too. The language and reading comprehension boxes would help with writing as well as phonics. The math boxes will be used for independent time at centers for students to have "game time". These math games are related to real life situations that are not just adding and subtracting but with time and measuring as well in a fun and interactive way. The last thing is a fun way for me to do a whole group game with my students and be fair. Like I have said, we love to play games and this will make it fair for not only me to see what group answers but for the students to see that I am being fair. It's also a fun way for the kids to be able to interact and have that fun time once a week with each other while reviewing material we have learned over the past week.
Most of my students don't get to use things like this in some classroom settings or even at home.
So when they see these things they are so happy to have something new to call "their own" and be able to use it in a fun learning way. They take care of things that really matter to them. Helping with donations will be a blessing in disguise for these who don't get to use these things on a daily basis.
