My Students

Can you imagine learning something as interesting as history from a textbook written above your reading ability and dates back almost 15 years? This is the challenge my students, who are eager to learn about their rich history, face daily. Please help by providing these much needed books and audio.

My students are the future leaders of our country!

They are bright and inquisitive. The new texts will enhance their learning by providing them with updated information and materials. The audio component will assist the students who need to learn through this mode. This project will increase the likelihood that the students will love discovering their history and its impact on our great country and the world.

My Project

The textbook, Massachusetts Our Home, is simply a beautiful book. It provides maps, activities and skills, and portraits of Massachusetts people including William Bradford, Paul Revere, John Adams, Clara Barton, Emily Dickinson, Susan Anthony, John F. Kennedy and many more. The students will learn about Native Americans, Pilgrims, Puritans, the American Revolution and government and economics.

Today social studies is taught through language, arts and writing because it is embedded in the Common Core.

The result is funding for social studies is limited. In order to keep history alive in the classroom, we need to have updated materials that engage our students to love history and learning. My students are our future!
