High school is more a place to learn. It's a place to grow. I want to provide my students with the high school experience they deserve. Starting a morning announcements club will enrich school culture and engage the student population. This club will also support digital literacy in our school.
We are a Title I high school located in an urban, high-needs district.
The makeup of our student body consists of students from various learning backgrounds and cultures. We serve a very diverse population of students that are hopeful, caring, and bright.
Recently, our school has relocated. We will again be moved in the future. The building we currently reside in does not have a functioning intercom system in place. Our previous school did not have an intercom system at all. This creates a disconnected and uninformed student body.
As a school, the students and the staff need a way to communicate athletics events, school announcements, and student achievements. This would promote a sense of community in the school, a sense of community that is currently missing. The morning announcements club would greatly improve and impact school culture and student engagement.
My Project
With the resources donated, the students will be able to communicate important school announcements. The students who join this club will learn how to plan, organize, and publish a weekly "news" segment. They will learn how to film, edit, and upload videos to share with the student body. The morning announcement team will work collaboratively with their teachers, fellow students, and principal to collect stories and content.
The donations will improve school culture and create a more unified learning community.
It will not only impact the students in the program, it will impact the culture at our high school. The students will take pride in contributing to, appearing on, and creating the content for the morning announcements. Words cannot express how much your donation means. It will inspire, engage, and change the students' lives. Additionally, this program will enhance digital literacy and support student writing
