Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

With an enrollment of about 420 students, all of our students use the computer lab. Heavy duty headphones are needed for our students to use for testing and other activities. Our privacy boards will hide their neighbor's computer and the electric pencil sharpener will be used for our many pencils.

Our school is a Title I school with 100% free lunch.

The school budget seems to get smaller each year and many of our students can't afford to keep supplying the lab and/or school with the needed supplies to make it through the year. Our students will love new headphones to be able to hear when the test is being read to them (K-2) and when they have to complete other assignments or activities. We have to end up resetting their tests so many times, due to the $1 headphones giving out or falling apart. They also have a hard time keeping their eyes on their own computer, so that's why we are asking for the privacy boards to be able to put between the computers.

My Project

With these new items, our students will be able to come in to their lab, put new headphones on and be able to hear sound! They will be able to concentrate on their own work and not have to worry about the student next to them peeping at their computer. We also have many students who have ADD and ADHD, which is critical when trying to isolate them when next to another student.

We would be so grateful if this project is funded.

The parents get so frustrated when it seems like we are always asking them to supply our school with items. We want our babies to be comfortable when coming into the lab and not be frustrated if they can't take their test as best as they can, because the sound goes out or the headphone has to be constantly readjusted because they are stretched or broken.
