Help At-Risk Business Students Learn From the Best
My students need a class set of the book "Choose Yourself" that they can learn from, as well as inspire them to be brave in the business world.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
At our school we give students second chances. Our school is based on giving students a second chance to succeed. With our Business Class we don't only want students to succeed, but thrive after high school.
At our high school, we know "It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are." (e.e.
cummings). We also know that with education and endless support, any student will be successful and become their own boss. This is our goal.
The students that come to our school are credit deficient and at-risk of not graduating. Our students often come here with little success in traditional high schools and find with a smaller setting and more individual attention that they can succeed at our school. Our school is a second chance for many students in our city.
My Project
Today we are looking for the wisdom from successful entrepreneurs of our time by getting a class set of James Altucher's book: Choose Yourself! This high interest book gives plenty of wisdom, examples, and rigorous reading that will challenge, and inspire our students to be successful in their own business ventures.
This project will make a difference because it will show our students that sometimes you have to fail to succeed.
Our students have failed many classes, and thought they might not even have the chance to graduate before joining our school. Here we want to foster resilience, and expose our students to successful business people that too have suffered adversity; but, had the courage to keep trying.
