Most children don't eat healthy until they get to school. Learning healthy eating in Pre- K will lay a foundation which will stick for a lifetime.
Our school is a Title I school located in Florida.
Our classroom is comprised of pre-kindergarten students from 3 years old to 5 years old with special needs. We have 10 students that are eager to learn and challenge their disabilities in preparing for kindergarten.
My Project
The materials that I am requesting will continue to allow me to teach healthy eating. My students enjoy cooking and preparing snacks. Cooking and preparing food in the classroom teaches my students many skills like health and nutrition, math skills with measuring, and sequencing skills with following steps in recipes. The refrigerators will allow us to properly store the snacks and juices. The ice cream maker will provide a fun active way to make a new nutritious snack.
The Miracle-Gro AeroGarden 3 will allow my students to grow their own herbs and vegetables in the classroom. The Sun Shade Sail kit will provide the shade that is needed to keep our active play going on our sunny playground. The Kidoozie Pogo will provide indoor and outdoor active play for my students.
This project will make a difference for my students by providing materials so we can continue to cook in our classroom and learn about nutrition and healthy eating.
This project will also allow us to continue our active play.
