My Students

Our nation is facing an epidemic of childhood obesity! I am also teaching PE at my school, and by incorporating health I can show students how to have a healthy lifestyle with nutrition as well as exercise.

My students range from kindergarten to 8th grade.

Many of them come from low income families where they need all the help and support they can get from school. I have students from many ethnic families. There are over 20 different languages spoken by our students and their families. We need to reduce childhood obesity and make sure our students develop healthy lifestyles at a young age so they can live longer and pass it on to the next generation.

My Project

By having a projector, I can show the students PowerPoint presentations, articles, media, and many different dimensions of health. I will not only be teaching nutrition, but every aspect of health. I will be teaching them about the cardiovascular system and the benefits of exercise on our internal organs. Our middle school students also will learn the harmful and fatal effects of smoking, alcohol, and other drugs. This will help them make the right decisions throughout their lives.

Educating students at a young age is the best way to avoid health problems as an adult.

The students will be able to take home the information they receive in health class to help their families live a healthy lifestyle. America has to be a healthy nation to be the best nation, and it starts with our children.
