My Students
Have you ever had that terrible feeling that you have lost something important to you? Maybe this happened because it did not have a place it belonged... Imagine how nine year old children feel if they cannot find their favorite books.
We have twenty one boys and girls in our fourth grade classroom with a range of ability levels.
Our elementary school is located in a small town in South Carolina. My students come from a variety of backgrounds, and each child has a different story. At this age, my children have experienced the changes of growing up, and some children have been through changes in the stability of their daily lives. I believe that children learn best in a consistent environment. Therefore, it is my job and passion as a teacher to create a comfortable, consistent, clutter-free classroom for each child.
My Project
I am requesting seat sacks for my students because in our classroom, we have very limited desk storage space for students. It can be challenging for my growing fourth graders to stay responsible and organized when the storage for their favorite books is so limited. I believe that seat sacks create a consistent place for students to keep their books at their seats, and they will always know exactly where to find them. This will also help eliminate transition time to get materials and keep the tops of desks clear and ready for other hands-on learning! I am requesting seat sacks because this is not a material that will be used once in a while and only for some students. Every single child will benefit from seat sack organization every single day in the classroom.
My goal as a teacher is for each of my students to walk away from my classroom better prepared for the world ahead of them.
I believe that every child should have the opportunity to grow and succeed. My students are taking small steps toward success every day in our classroom, and a key component is teaching them how to be organized and responsible.
