This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My second graders have learned how to use technology. They enjoy games and computers. Educational software will be a wonderful addition to our classroom learning. The software games and learning activities can motivate even the most reluctant learner.

Our classroom is in an inner city school.

We are in a low income area. The students often are not interested in traditional learning. Computers and games will often motivate and help the students achieve. I taught these students in first grade and had to find things to keep their attention and motivate them to want to learn. We do a lot of hands-on learning. Technology was a big part of our learning environment.

My Project

Wouldn't it be awesome to be the person who provides motivation and learning opportunities for a whole class of inner city school second graders? The software packages that I have chosen can be used on a computer for individual learning or on a Promethean board for whole group or class learning. The software packages are designed to provide practice with phonics, reading comprehension skills, highlighting information in text and a variety of math mastery skills. The software is designed to motivate the students while they are learning. These students can learn to become responsible members of their community. The interactive software will provide and enhance the foundation to quality learning.

Imagine a classroom full of very active second graders interacting and learning.

This is a dream that you can help make happen. This second grade class deserves their dream to come true. Interactive software will provide them with many opportunities to be successful. You can provide these opportunities!
