Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Everyday, my soccer team must travel 30 minutes via bus to a city park for practice since we do not have a field. At the end of the season, I would like my athletes to show significant improvement with their ball control and agility. "All or nothing" is something we regularly preach to the teams.
My student-athletes come from a variety of backgrounds and parts of the city.
80% of the student population live below the poverty line despite being located in a well off neighborhood. My students are smart and fun loving but need to be better prepared to become excellent leaders.
My Project
We will use our new equipment to enhance our skills, response time, and technique using similar drills that the pros do for all three levels of the boys and girls soccer team. The agility ladder and poles will allow the athletes to become quicker on their feet and more agile. Having enough soccer balls for each player would reduce "wait time" and would help each player dominant the ball better. More balls would also allow for more time to work and improve the non-dominant foot. The roller will help with maintain athletic wellness and prevention of injury. The air pump and bags will allow for proper care/ maintenance of our equipment so that they last longer.
With the new equipment, we will better be prepared to face any new challenges or weaknesses we possess as a team.
I believe that my student-athletes will learn proper training techniques that they can use in the future to continue to maintain a healthy living lifestyle.
