Fun in Physics

My students need equipment such as a gyroscope and optical bench that will enable them to see; and put into perspective what we are discussing in class and bring fun to physics.

My Students

Do you remember sitting in a physics or physical science class wondering what the heck the teacher was talking about? Let's bring some fun into physics. Students will be able to actually work together to determine what physics concepts are being used as we work with the equipment.

My students are interested in learning but can become bored easily.

We are located in a rural town in south central Arkansas. Students come from a wide variety of backgrounds but they have one thing in common-learning. They strive to meet my high expectations.

My Project

Through the use of the requested equipment, students will be able to determine how optics work and ways to manipulate the light waves. The use of the bicycle wheel gyroscope and turn table will wow the students through teaching about force, motion, and direction of motion. The optical bench deluxe will amaze students with a variety of ways to change light and the way that it is viewed. The turntable/rotating platform and gyroscope bicycle wheel will demonstrate and allow students to see how force and motion interact and can change the way an object reacts. These two items will also show students how an ice skater can rotate in circles with gaining speed.

Donations for the requested materials will enable students to use equipment that they have never used before.

This equipment will be used in physical science and physics. I purchase a great deal of materials for classes out of my own pocket and your help would be greatly appreciated.
