My students need two sets of Cubelets & three mBot Robotics kits to learn more about robotics and STEM topics.

My Students

When we first introduced our STEM robotics lessons to our elementary students, we knew they would be excited. Little did we know how enthusiastic they would be to learn about robotic design and computational thinking. They simply can't get enough of it, which is a wonderful thing to see.

We have created a STEM Makerspace in our school's Library Media Center, which is a welcoming learning environment where our students are free to explore, collaborate, and problem solve using technology that is geared towards their interests and grade level.

My students are curious and creative learners who have an innate wonderment about the world around them - particularly with regards to technology. This wonderful sense of curiosity is what we want to engage and grow in our Library Media Center's Maker Space. Incorporating these Cubelets and mBot robotics kits in our Maker Space will help them with that educational exploration.

My Project

This technology will allow even more of our students to learn about robotics and robotic design, and will take their understanding to new heights. With the Cubelets Six kits, even more of our students will gain hands-on experience building robots and learning about how robots sense, think, and interact with their environments. The mBot kits will take this robotics knowledge to a higher level, because the students will be able to build robots that perform specific tasks by creating computer programs, uploading this routine to the robots that they build, and observing how the robots run these programs and interact with their environments. There is a tremendous amount of scientific and higher order thinking occurring in this process!

Without question, our students have proven that they are ready, willing, and able to increase their STEM knowledge and learn about the science of robotics.

As a teacher who is also excited about this technology, it is so rewarding to see these curious young minds so enthusiastic about this field of science. Will you help them on this scientific journey? After all, this robotics project may just be the start of many wonderful scientific endeavors that these students will accomplish.
