From Pre-K to Einstein...Our Young Future Scientists!
My students need hands-on science materials to explore and grasp the concepts of basic science for their first year of school.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Help my little junior scientists think they are playing when they are actually learning! With your donation, you will give my pre-k students the best opportunity to explore and discover by guiding them with real science experiments.
My class is a bilingual pre-k class in a school that is 85% Hispanic in the friendly state of Texas.
In my class, I have happy and curious little friends who are always wanting to explore. I have an AM class and a PM class, so I'm very fortunate to have double the amount of students compared to other grades. These little ones are energetic and so eager to learn and share. The demographics for the area goes to show that these students are deprived from enriched educational settings in their home.
My Project
We all know that we learn better by doing. This is key for little 4-5 year old learners. With these science materials, they will be shocked yet be amazed by the wonderful world of science. As with any science experiment, I will start each investigation by asking them first what they think will happen. Most of the time these little ones don't understand or can't explain cause and effect. Then, they will each, first hand, examine and investigate. These sets are perfect for my class rotation since I have about 4 students per table and these provide for a set of students to experiment. They will learn about magnification using magnets, and motion using ramps, cars, and balls. Also, they will explore what the concept of sink and float, color and light, and sound. Doesn't this all sound like fun? They will think they are playing but they won't realize that they are actually learning! They are going to LOVE it!!! I am actually excited for them.
At the end of the day, I want to feel good about giving these kiddos the opportunity to learn about our world through science.
Learning for them should be FUN! I don't mind if they tell their parents that they were playing all day in school, they might not realize that they are actually working with these cool science experiments. The key is to manipulate them to think work is fun, therefore it should be fun and exciting!
