Have you ever wanted to show your hard work off but for some reason or another you can not. This is a problem my students face everyday when they must rely on a computer that works off and on.
My students are a dedicated group of 14-17 year old students who put in over 120 hours in just six weeks to build a robot for a competition.
These students are all motivated young scholars who are focused on their grades as well as their extracurricular activities. My students attend a school with over 2000 students and with our team coming from such a large school being made up of only 25 students, we are considered a club and do not receive a great deal of support from our school financially. Though our school does the best it can, building a robot requires a great deal of monetary support. My students fundraise all the money that supports our team through the building of the robot as well as money for them to attend the competitions for three days that are usually a fair distance from our home town in Tennessee.
Please help these kids who work so hard.
My Project
For our students to program the robot, they must use a computer that has the Windows 7 operating software. This computer offers everything our kids need to program their robot and enable the robot to complete tasks as defined by the rules of each competition. Each year the competition is different and students must design and build their own robot to compete. With this computer, we can allow our students to have a reliable computer to support each robot's needs. With this computer, the students will be able to show their school as well as rising students what great things they have accomplished in a 6 week period. Our program fosters a love for engineering and our kids want to share their experiences with future generations so they too can see what engineering has to offer.
With your help, we can help our program grow.
Our team will be able to program and use this computer for many build seasons to come. The students will be able to show off their hard work more often and get the attention that they deserve for all the hard work they have put in.
