A typical day in our classroom will show students learning at different stations and receiving lessons in a variety of ways.
My students are eager to learn.
They are fourth grade special education students with learning disabilities. Many have multiple diagnoses. They range from learning levels of first to fourth grade and require varied learning material. I am new to this school and to fourth grade.
My new school is a third through fifth grade school. We have over three hundred and fifty students who attend our school. Over 65% of our student body receives either free or reduced price lunch. We are a Title I school that is currently experiencing budgets cuts as is our entire state.
My Project
My students need a Samsung Galaxy tablet with case and two Hokki stools. My students will use the stools in their math literacy center. These stools are a great tool to have for students with ADHD, but many students have the wiggles and need to get them out in order to focus better. Using these stools in a financial literacy center will help students focus more on learning about money and how important the knowledge of money is to them now and in the future. My students will use the Samsung Galaxy tablet for research and learning games that incorporate money into daily lessons.
It is an essential to teach our students about the world of finance, and this should happen at the very young age.
My students will be able to learn on their own in groups, and we can use the Samsung Galaxy tablet as a whole group by connecting it to our computer and projecting it onto the board. Special education students are often overlooked when it comes to teaching students the importance of money and learning how to count it correctly.
