My Students

Will you play with me? Children crave to play. It is a part of their instinct. We need to give them more opportunities to do so because when they do they learn more than we could have ever taught them by force feeding it to them.

My students are so wonderful.

They are the ones I go to work for everyday; to see them grow physically, emotionally, and academically. I have students of many kinds. They come from many different economic status', multicultural backgrounds, and support systems. The one thing they have in common is the love of learning. This year I'll be teaching Kindergarten. Last year I taught Second graders. No matter where I am at this school or what grade level I teach, my students need the intensive, creative, and fun learning environment that permits success.

My Project

When I see a flourishing Kindergarten classroom I see kids at play in many different areas. A few kids might be cooking dinner and serving others in the Kitchen Center. Others might be creating their own city in the Block Center, while trying seeing who can build the tallest skyscraper. Some might just be content with working at their seat with crayons and paper. My point is that it is an active environment where kids are always talking and working together with the materials that they have at hand.

This project is more important to my kids than it is to me.

These kids deserve and environment where they have limitless opportunities to really play with the kids in their class. With limited materials we have limited opportunities. With more play materials will have a much better chance to teach these kids to be successful people, who are our future.
