Exceptional Entrepreneurs Eager for Employment Opportunity
My students need a Keurig, a cake pop maker, a variety of beverages and supplies such as cups, stirrers, and napkins in order to implement their cafe business.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As an educator for 12th grade students with special needs, it is very important to teach my children real world skills. As they are about to leave high school, I want them to learn skills that they can put to use immediately in a job situation. My entrepreneurs want to launch a cafe in our school!
I have a small group of 12th grade scholars with special needs at a public high school in the Mississippi Delta.
Our school is considered highest poverty, with 100% of the student body receiving free lunch. Our children face many challenges, but they are bright and eager to learn. I want to provide my seniors with the tools they need to succeed in the world after high school.
My Project
My students need a Keurig, a cake pop maker, a variety of hot beverage k-cups, and supplies including cups, stirrers and sweeteners in order to launch their school business. My budding entrepreneurs want to launch a school business that will serve the needs of the student body, gaining important life skills as a result.
They will learn how to follow instructions, read recipes, and work together to produce a product. They will use a variety of skills to advertise their business. My students will be able to learn about business finance, operations, marketing, and customer service by running a functioning business during school hours. Everything they learn can be applied to other business opportunities when they leave high school in a few short months.
While operating their own business, my students will learn cooperation, customer service and business skills that will serve them well in the real world after high school.
This is a priceless opportunity for my special needs students! This project will inspire them and help them to gain confidence in their skills. Thank you in advance for investing in the future of my students!
