How often do you stop to capture with your eyes, all the beauty that surrounds you? Here at our school, we are engulfed in beautiful mountains, landscapes of farms, and a thriving population of wildlife. We talk science in the classroom, but we experience through real world experiences.
Our students are wild with creativity.
Though the separation can seem like a burden, the ability to engage in the outdoors sparks a wonder our students. They have learned to connect in a deeper way with the expanse of land surrounding them.
Our school does well to achieve on state testing. The area we always lack in pertains to finding funding for projects that boost innovation and creativity. When the budget is determined, we find that most of our funds are spent on the bare essentials. How can we bridge between our rural community and great realities of creation, wondering, and connection? We know the answer to be more relevant resources to foster student engagement.
My Project
New cameras for our Environmental Photography Club will allow more students to join the club and capture the world around us.
The current club is know to explore and document many birds, trees, and other elements of nature. The students in the club enjoy getting outdoors and using cameras to put classroom theory into to practice.
The club is always limited by the use of cameras. Students have to bring their own camera to the club, but what about those who can't afford a camera? With some additional classroom cameras, a few more students will be able to experience to wonder in our rural community.
Should a student be limited by their lack of family resources?
We certainly believe all students should are able to learn. Give them the resources, and you will be amazed at the world you can unlock.
The students in this club are an essential part of the learning environment at our school. They are the face of our future discoverers, explorers, and scientist. Equip them. Watch them soar.
