My Students

Being that our school does not have a library, I would love to give the learners in my class the freedom to be able to do the research that they need, whenever they needed to, without having to be restricted by sign up times and web based testing.

Our learners arrive at school from all areas of our city, many of whom may be living below the poverty line, are foster children, as well as come from supportive middle class families.

We do not provide public transportation, so some of our learners are driven to school from as far as 30 miles away. Parents realize the value in a PBL (project-based learning) school education.

My Project

Because we are a PBL school, our state standards in all subject areas are taught through self-directed learning as learners complete projects. My learners will be using the 6 requested laptops for in-class research, as well as literacy center activities throughout the school day. Our entire school of 305 learners have a total of 48 Chromebooks to share.

Your donations will allow my learners to have the freedom to have unrestricted access to research that will help them to apply and relate state standards to real life.

As they presenting their PBL's in front of business and community leaders, they will have opportunities take their projects to the next level and make a difference in their community and the world.
