My students need a SMART document camera that works with our SMART Board so that we can enhance and interact with our writing, books we read and our science explorations.
Kindergarten is a very busy, interactive place where we explore new ideas inside and outside of our classroom. We explore scientific ideas, mathematical ideas and we also enjoy reading and writing. We use Twitter, Skype and Kidblog to have conversations and connect with others globally.
My students are involved in project based learning opportunities where they are able to become aware of community and world needs.
They are energetic and care very much about learning and helping others.
We enjoy learning because it is fun and we do lots of things that we are interested in. We share and reflect daily using a variety of technologies that enrich our understanding of the concepts we explore.
We are lucky because we have a school garden and our door takes us right outside! This is great because we explore lots of different scientific ideas outdoors. Being outside is fun because we get fresh air and we learn by observing and interacting with what we see!
My Project
My students will be able to enhance and enrich their writing, text we read, mathematical explorations and also highlight our scientific ideas that we are exploring with our document camera.
Presently we have to hold things up to share and it is really difficult to share because not everyone can see our work. The document camera would make it easy for all of us to share our work at one time so that we can all reflect and respond thoughtfully to what others are observing and understanding.
In Kindergarten it is really important to be able to capture what we explore and also understand. A new document camera would give us numerous, daily opportunities to do this!
As a Kindergarten teacher I am always looking for ways to enhance, enrich and engage my students.
My instruction is important, but tools that help to capture and enhance the learning goals actually opens up endless opportunities for all students to learn from each other.
