My students need a digital dictionary. The digital dictionary will provide a great resource for my students with disabilities.

My Students
My students with disabilities have difficulty using regular dictionaries. The speaking dictionary will allow for those students to have a dictionary they can use.
Students in my classes live in a very rural community and attend a public school.
My students begin a second language in middle school which is difficult for many of them to grasp a second language. However, Spanish is beneficial for the area in which they live. Spanish is beneficial for them to learn as many construction workers and dairy or agricultural laborers are Hispanic.
My Project
The digital dictionary will enable the students with disabilities the possibility of using a dictionary. Some students have difficulty with reading comprehension. The digital dictionary will be a great tool. Often times these students struggle with foreign language more than their classmates. A speaking dictionary will be very helpful.
Many of my students come from lower incomes.
I request all students buy a dictionary but not all can afford one. I have used my own money in the past to purchase a few dictionaries. The digital dictionary will allow my students with disabilities access to the same information as regular education students.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
