My students need hands-on activities such as the marble run, wooden connecting set and create a maze for our maker space along with art supplies to express creativity.
My vision for the upcoming school year is for my students to enthusiastically engage in hands-on learning at the Create and Explore Maker Space in our classroom. I want my students to learn by doing and express their creativity. My vision is for my students to discover their passion for learning.
My first grade students are a diverse group of learners with a curiosity for the world around them.
They are active and enjoy learning by doing. Our school is a traditional school with minimal technology but we are transitioning to a more innovative building by incorporating project based learning and STEM activities. I want to include the use of a Maker Space to engage all types of learners.
My Project
At least twice each day students will have the opportunity to work individually or with others to explore engineering concepts through the use of these resources. By providing a variety of materials students may choose projects to create either through art or manipulatives. Students will have opportunities to share their findings with their classmates and in turn become the teacher. My students need hands on activities such as the marble run, wooden connector set, and create a maze for our maker space along with art supplies and play doh to express creativity.

I desire to have a classroom where curiosity is encouraged and kids are eager to try new ideas. I want the budding artist to have an outlet to express themselves and the restless child to channel their energy productively. I believe through the Create and Explore Maker Space gifted, artistic, and challenging students will be engaged in learning.
