My Students

My students are a very fun and loving group of children. Every morning we gather on the floor to welcome one another during our morning meeting. We love to get to know each other and to create a warm classroom climate. Our learning doesn't stop there... we are always learning from one another!

My students are very eager to learn and are very determined.

One of our favorite quotes is from The Little Engine That Could, "I think I can, I think I can...I thought I could. (Piper)" My students are like that little engine and are always determined to try their best in their learning. They love coming to school and are excited to show me and their friends their new ideas, thinking, and learning.

My Project

My students spend a great portion of the day on the floor for whole group lessons. They love to have their own spot and with this new carpet each child will have a special place of their own to do their own thinking and learning. The children also come to the floor during Crew time to learn more about the scholarships of learning such as being determined and respectful as well as how to be a good friend to one another. Students would be able to use their new carpet to listen, discuss new ideas, read, write and much more!

This will help improve our classroom greatly!

Currently, the children have been so kind as they have been generously sitting on a smaller rug. Having a bigger rug will give the student's independence to think and learn on their own as well as room to turn and talk to a partner about their learning. The new rug will engage the students and I can already see it being a first choice of where they will do their reading. This will help student growth as students will be excited to learn.
