"Life is too short not to be happy" is a life motto of mine as an educator. I am a counselor replacing one who passed away suddenly last year. To help our grieving process, and to support students socially and academically, various forms of therapy could be incorporated.
The students I work with range from pre-k through 5th grade at a rural elementary school that had significant damage from Hurricane Rita years ago.
The school had to move four times in four years as a result of the storm. As the counselor, I want to offer beneficial resources that will help and guide young student entrusted in my care. We have over 500 Pre k to 5th grade energetic students at my school this year.
My Project
To ensure that I will provide my students beneficial experiences in dealing with social and academic counseling, I would like to order materials to help provide a variety of counseling therapies, as well as to help my student achieve academic goals. This project would benefit my students by allowing them to be engaged in counseling sessions and unique classroom lessons that help enhance positive character development skills. Students who are socially and academically stable will without a doubt, perform at a higher level on our state standardized testing. Using puppets therapy, an iPad mini and other resources, I could definitely reach students both privately as well as in classroom character building lessons.
Donations for this request would allow student stability and help them be successful both socially and academically.
The broad impact of this project is to enable my students to achieve in school and become productive citizens. Please consider helping us.
