Comfortable Reading

Reading is enjoyable, but more enjoyable when you can relax and are comfortable. My students need two bean bags to be able to read comfortably.

My Students

My students see themselves as readers. They know that practice makes perfect and enjoy practicing reading. They are more engaged in their reading when they are comfortable and can truly be immersed in the book they are reading.

My students are in second grade in a Dual Language Immersion program.

Some of my students are native English speakers and others native Spanish speakers. All are learning to read in Spanish. They are eager to continue growing and improving as readers. They are also excited to learn about the world through books!

My Project

The bean bags will give students additional comfortable and relaxing spaces to read independently on a daily basis. Right now, students share my rocking chair. We've made a little corner in our classroom for our classroom library, but the only chairs we have in this space are hard and wooden.

Your donations will allow them to be more engaged and immersed in the books they are reading which in turn will help them grow as readers.

It will help instill the love of reading at a young age by creating positive experiences during independent reading.
