This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Benjamin Franklin said, "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." Using Kindle Fires in my classroom will allow me to teach STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) activities while increasing student interest and engagement.
My students are the most amazing people I have ever met!
They attend a Title I school where all of the students receive free breakfast and 98% receive a free or reduced lunch. Many of my students do not have access to some of the things we take for granted: homes that are filled with books and other literacy-rich items, access to technology outside of school, etc. To add to this, they have disabilities that seriously impact their learning. Still, they come to me each day with a smile on their face, ready to begin a new learning adventure.
My Project
My students receive extra support in our kindergarten through second grade resource classroom. They learn through repetition and hands-on activities. Each day, I try to make learning exciting and fun while teaching missing skills and grade level standards. This year, we are focusing on implementing STEM activities that will help students gain the skills required to succeed in today's challenging world. The Kindle Fires will be used to teach my students to begin to think critically while learning about science, mathematics, and technology.
My students are simply THE BEST!
They positively impact my life every day. By donating to this project, you will be helping me do the same for them. The Kindle Fires will help keep my students engaged as I cultivate a love of science, mathematics, and technology while meeting their individual learning needs.
