Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you love the look of color? Does it get your creative juices flowing? My students would rather learn with materials in color than black and white.
My students are awesome!
They are eager students who love to learn about the world around them. They attend a high-need Title 1 school with little funding for additional materials. Most of my students are English learners and struggle with reading and math. But, like all children (and probably adults), they are more engaged in learning when the resources are bright and colorful.
My Project
I am requesting a color printer to print materials for students to use in the classroom. We do fair amount of small group instruction where students who are not working with the teacher are engaged in meaningful activities. These activities are much more engaging when presented to students in color.
I also want to use the printer to print student work. We have so many electronic devices in the classroom now, but students have difficulty printing their work to take home and show their parents. This printer will allow students to create stories on their iPads and then print them for other students to read.
This color printer will help me present engaging materials to my students.
It will also help me be more efficient in my teaching and planning so that I can make the most use of my time, dedicating it to more important things. Printing will no longer be a barrier to the creative work we do in our classroom.
