Ms. K. from SC is requesting a class trip through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a bus to take them from Charleston, SC to go on official campus visits at the University of North Carolina and Duke University.

Do you remember how excited you were to visit and apply to colleges during your senior year of high school? The experience of touring new campuses, meeting professors and students and figuring out where you'll fit in for the next four years is a huge moment for students across the country.
My students are big dreamers from a tiny school in a small city.
They can't wait to apply to colleges and experience the next step in their educational careers, but don't have the means to leave our city to visit schools like Duke and the University of North Carolina. They aspire to attend excellent colleges, but many have never walked around campuses, spoken with students and professors or even seen a dorm room!
My students and I are eager to visit top tier colleges and universities to motivate ourselves to work harder everyday in class so that my students can someday attend those excellent institutions. We need a bus that can take us from our home school on these college tours. My students crave interactions with real college students, need to sit in on college-level classes, and want to feel the pride that comes with being welcomed to and accepted at a university. When they return to our home school, they'll be inspired to use every day as the opportunity to continue being the person they want to become.
This bus will do so much more than just transport my students for a couple of hours on a field trip.
It will be the vessel that pushes my students to think and act like college students by modeling those they have seen in person. They will start thinking of themselves as academically-inclined, of the opportunities that come from an education and of the definite possibility of attending an excellent four-year college! We can't wait to go to college - won't you join us?
