My students need colored pencils, compasses, and markers for art projects we accomplish with geometry. We also use them for our interactive notebooks.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come into the classroom, grab their interactive notebooks, and we start the class with notes that include various different activities.
My students are a well-rounded mix of English-learning students who barely speak English to highly advanced learners eager to achieve top scores on everything.
We work hard to meet the needs of all students and using different colors in our interactive notebooks, it make them easier to read and more fun to make.
My Project
They will use the compasses to make intricate geometric designs using the compass and ruler only. They will also use the colors and markers in their interactive notebooks to make their notes "pop" with color as they take notes and do different activities that we put in their notebooks. We occasionally have worksheets that require them to color parts of the worksheet for the correct answer - having markers and color pencils handy in the classroom will make these easier for the students to complete in class.
Many of our students are on the "Free/Reduced Lunch" program which indicates that they are low income families.
They don't always have funds for school supplies and it will make a difference if the school can have these little things for them to help their interactive notebooks shine.
