My students need hands-on supplies! Many of these games, including activity stations, puzzles, flip books and a CVC word work center, are self-correcting so while they are working independently, they cannot make mistakes and get confused!
My students are struggling with letter-sound correspondences and word building, which will lead to future struggles with reading. This is why I hope to provide them with more hands-on games to help them practice word-building skills (as well as their independence skills!)
My students are the best!
I see over 10 struggling daily for interventions, but they are always so eager to learn! Every single one of them is ready for a challenge, and works so hard to get up to grade level. They are all very interested in exploring and hands-on learning and would love a few new games to play!
My Project
The manipulatives I have requested are all hands on learning games that can be both independent center activities AND incredible teaching tools. I would love the ability to maximize my teaching efficiency with these fun, engaging, kid-friendly tools.
Many are CVC games (Which means Consonant-Vowel-Consonant Words) which helps a student decode words by blending 3 basic sounds (Such as Cat /k/ /a/ /t/) But for my lower students there are basic letter/sound correspondence activities.
These are all great center activities as well as great teaching tools, and I hope that I can share them with my students.
This selection will give my students a greater variety of independent activities to choose from, as well as the ability to "see" what words their letters make. This will help them become better decoders & readers!
