Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
At school I would like to be able to create a welcoming environment for my students. Walking into a room with a nice clean rug to sit and greet my students would be a warm and inviting routine.
My 3rd grade students come from a city in California.
They attend a public school that tries to meet their needs with the resources that are available. The school's students are diverse. We are a high performing school. We are a school of choice. Parents put their child on the wait list. Funding is low. Most of our funding is through parent club.
My Project
Students will be able to sit and read on the rug. They will be able to listen and learn. Moving from seat to rug, gives students a more active day and a more hands-on approach to learning. The rug will also provide a learning experience with a teaching component with having the continents provided on the rug.
This rug is very expensive and I would not be able to afford it on my own.
I would appreciate any donation toward this rug for my classroom. The rug currently in my class is old. It's time to change it.
