In our second grade classroom children are busy with books, books, and more books. We are immersed in various reading texts as students dive into their own levels of instruction. One of our biggest challenges is in storing books effectively in our classroom library.
I teach second grade at a Title I school where our teachers and students work diligently each and every day to meet success.
We are very goal-oriented as the academic year moves along, and we celebrate our efforts as learning goals are met. In my classroom, there are usually around 22 heterogeneously-grouped students who range in various ability levels. It's challenging to work with various learning levels within the large group and very rewarding to see the students' growth by the end of the year. That's always thrilling and something we all celebrate.
Our class library is in need of book bins and book boxes. I know we will all enjoy these materials as our class library is a very active space and place in our classroom. It will be nice to have color-coded book bins and theme-labeled book boxes for our many books. Students will take pride in keeping our books organized in easy-to-use book bins and boxes. It's exciting to think of receiving these materials for our class library this year!
I certainly will appreciate all donations made to this project because it's something which will improve organization in the classroom.
The students and I will greatly appreciate having color-coded book bins and book boxes in our classroom library. This project will improve how and where we keep our books for ease in accessibility. This is an exciting project because the need is great. I have accumulated many books in our classroom, and these books need new homes--new book boxes and book bins.
