Chromebooks are the Future

My students need Chromebooks to learn how computing will work as everything moves to the cloud.

My Students

Technology is constantly changing. What we call technology as teachers is commonplace to our students. What they call technology is the future. Computing is going cloud-based. This is the future and my students need to prepare for that future.

My students live in a state that doesn't put a high dollar value on education.

Teachers are poorly paid and spending per students is almost the worst in the country. Funding for student technology is so bad that our district has adopted a "bring your own device" policy as an excuse for not providing computers in the classroom. This policy works great for a few privileged students. The rest, however, are left with their textbooks and pencils.

My Project

A small set of chromebooks in my classroom will give an opportunity to all of my students to familiarize themselves with current technology and bring their learning into the 21st century. It will help them to develop the 21st century skills that they so desperately need to succeed in this life.

Please, help my students see the future.

Help me make my classroom a place where they can get up close and be part of what is going on in the world. This could be the best Christmas present that many of them will get this year.
