This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Class time is focused on engaging students in hands on learning through projects and labs that bring their online "book" knowledge to life. Students often comment that the projects help them fully understand what they are learning in the course.
Our school of choice allows these high school students to be educated through a personalized learning program.
Students are on independent study, work independently, and also meet with credentialed teachers in the cyber cares. These students take initiative, are dedicated and determined.
My Project
Resources will be used for Chemistry lab. We are currently in need of a Periodic Table that will be referred to when explaining chemical reactions. The lab kits will be used to help bring online learning to life through hands on lab investigations and experiments.
Hands on experiences bring life to "book" content.
Students are more likely to become engaged and excited about science when they are able to participate in experiments to see chemical reactions and understand why they are happening. My hope is that a few will become so engaged that they decide to pursue a STEM path.
