This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

As a teacher, a day for me involves interactions with High School students from various backgrounds. Every day I am teaching, preparing students for college entrance exams, mentoring, and coaching cheerleading.

These students come from a diverse background.

The students have a lot of pride in their school and are very involved with their studies and community involvement. These students are determined and work hard to make their dreams come true. The students are very passionate about increasing the atmosphere of school spirit as well as physical fitness.

My Project

We currently do not have mats. This prevents our cheerleaders from learning, practicing or performing stunts. Our students need safety mats to follow safety guidelines for cheerleaders. These mats will be used by the cheer team during practice 3 days a week after school. The use of these mats will ensure the students will be safe as they learn drills, exercises, stretching, formations, and stunting. Being a cheerleader helps students learn the importance of working together as a team.

This project will make a difference by increasing school spirit for the numerous events and ceremonies we have on campus such as assemblies, pep rallies and games.

This project will also ensure that our cheerleaders will have the resources necessary to practice safety measures.
