My students need cameras with cases to protect the cameras to film their video about the 4 Ps (Product, Price, Place, Promotion) of marketing.

My Students

My classroom does not have enough cameras for every group to successfully film their videos for marketing their product. Having the cameras with accessories will help them to create interest about their company and help them collaborate with others to promote their companies.

Our middle school is a school in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

We are the number one public middle school in the state. Although the majority of our students are gifted and talented, we often get overlooked and do not typically get funding for projects or technology. We use our PTSO extensively for small grants, but our school has 1300+ students and can only do so much to help meet the needs of all of our students.

My Project

Students will create a mock company with four-five other partners. They will write mission statements, long and short term goals. They will also choose a charity to donate a part of their profits. They will learn about cost of goods sold, gross profit, net profit and income statements. They will create a video about the 4 P's of marketing as it pertains to their mock company. They will utilize the video and create interest about their company. They will collaborate with others to promote their companies. They simulate doing real world math problems and are able to understand basic business math.

Students are learning how to collaborate in the business world by creating a mock company.

Having cameras will enable the students to create, edit and publish real images about their mock companies to a Google site and help them gain insight to a competitive and global society through this real life experience.
