My Students

Presentations, videos, live streams, power points, virtual tours, these are just a few of the things my students have the opportunity to experience with the technology that is available. However, technology that is available does not translate into accessible.

Many of my students are from lower income homes.

They are good kids, who do not come from backgrounds that give them that extra push they need to be successful in the emerging technological enhanced world. All students need every advantage they can to succeed. They thrive on interaction, on success, on hearing it is possible, and must have state of the art knowledge to prepare them for the careers of tomorrow. The students have access to computers at school and many have access to a computer at home. However, with the varying levels of access and levels of technology, it is hard to have the right items on hand to fit the technology that they have used. This access to technology does them very little good if they cannot use it in class due to compatibility issues.

My Project

My students are creating Power Point presentations for class use. They have access to virtual field trips. I use historical music videos in class. We have the potential ability to Skype with classes from around the world, but no single opportunity can be used to its fullest potential without the use of a short throw projector that has the ability to adapt to all of the different levels of technology in use today.

I want to inspire my students to reach for every ounce of potential that they have.

I cannot ask them to reach for the fullest potential if I cannot reciprocate by having the ability to reach for the fullest educational experience possible for them. I want to bring them the world, literally, whenever possible. How do I display it without the technology meant to do this? Please help me bring them the world.
