Building Literacy Skills

My students need big books to be able to track each word, when the teacher is reading. These sing along books will allow for an increase in early literacy reading skills.

My Students

My classroom is filled with 7 wonderful children! They range from kindergarten to second-grade. Each one of my students learns differently, and is at a different stage of reading. It is a challenge to teach all of my students, at their level, but it is possible, with lots of planning!

My students love music, books, toys, and to learn.

They love to learn when the classroom is engaging and exciting. It is amazing to see the smiles on their faces, when they realize they are learning. During free time, my students enjoy playing teacher, and teaching each other, through using my classroom materials.

My Project

My students love music! These sing along big books, will allow each student, to track each word, as we read aloud the songs, they know and love. The large size of the book and familiar songs, makes my guided lessons more engaging. Each student will be able to learn about syllables, phonics, phonemic awareness, and word recognition, at their level, using the same sing along text.

Making a donation to this project, will help improve the reading ability of each one of my students.

Reading is a skill that is a challenge for all of my students, but is critical to help them live as independent as possible.
