This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In today's standardized test driven school system, creativity, critical thinking and working collaboratively is now becoming a thing of the past. I would love to give my students the chance to bring their learning to life by having the resources to create journal pages and projects!!

My students are newcomers.

They are not learning a new language but about a new culture. They are very excited about learning and in many cases find school to be there safe haven. My school is a place filled with teachers and administrators that truly care about our students.

My Project

I remember social studies and science as my least favorite courses when I was in 5th grade. My teacher would read right out of the text book and leave us to answer the chapter review questions. I want my student to learn by creating journal pages and projects based on the lessons they are learning. They will have options as far as how to color their work. The clay will be used to make models for our human body and space lessons.

My students will truly enjoy having the freedom to decide how they want to express what they have learned.

Having the appropriate materials will make that possible. I want them to have an experience they will never forget.
