This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Think back to when you were in school and had to read lessons from the science textbook. These stories are not always engaging and make reading unappealing.

Most of my students have not experienced the world outside of their hometown.

Their learning experiences are limited and our teachers must capture their interest during school hours. They are very energetic and are motivated when learning is real. So it is our job to make learning as real life as possible through authentic experiences.

My Project

I am requesting literature that will capture our students' attention. Through these Super Science magazines, I can teach numerous science comprehension and vocabulary skills. The best part: they will be so engaged in the stories that they will not even realize they are learning!

Your help with this project is urgently needed!

I fear that the students' interest in reading is dwindling because they have not had positive experiences with literature. My goal, with your help, is to create a love for science and reading in my students.
