My students need stability balls to help in maintaining focus as they are working in class. They will use the balls as seats that will allow movement as they work.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Dr. John J. Ratey said, “Movement is Miracle-Gro for the brain.” It is my desire to "fertilize" my students and see them grow physically and academically as they use the stability ball seats in class.
My students are an awesome group of kids that come from some wonderful families that love them very much.
Unfortunately, they don't always begin their day with the resources they need to have a great day of learning. I am constantly searching for ways to overcome the obstacles that many of them face.
My Project
Research shows that stability balls increase student focus and increase core strength since the students are required to balance themselves on the balls when sitting. This should facilitate learning when sitting at their desks is required. During stations when they are completing activities that develop skills such as reading and writing, they will be able to maintain their focus and complete the assignments to the best of their ability.
The balls should facilitate movement and an increase in learning and should grow some awesome kids!
My wonderful students should have every advantage in the classroom even if they have difficulty maintaining focus on an activity, and the stability balls will give them the edge that they need so desperately.
