My Students

Remember music in elementary school? What was your favorite part? Many people will tell you it was playing instruments, and that is the same answer my students give.

My students are from a small district in Colorado.

Like many schools in Colorado we are struggling financially. My students are using old supplies, instruments and books because my small budget can't accommodate 500 students. Music is a class where many students thrive even when they struggle in their general classroom. However, not having enough instruments is a problem.

My Project

My students will use the boomwhackers to learn musical concepts like rhythm, beat, notes, and more. They are durable, light, and easy to play so they are great for students in any grade. With the activity books we would also like, we will have plenty of songs and activities to play.

We already have one set of boomwhackers in the classroom and the kids love them!

However, 16 boomwhackers isn't enough for each student to have one. I've seen the joy the students have when playing these instruments and I want each child to have the opportunity to play them.
