Have you ever heard a jazz band without piano or bass? Could you imagine a music class being taught without a piano? Help us provide these essential items for our new music program! We currently do not have these items and with your help our program can continue to flourish.
Our students attend a county-wide magnet school serving a very diverse cross-section of students.
Our students come from a variety of affluent and disadvantaged communities with the goal of becoming internationally aware citizens. Our school is expected to be granted status as an International Baccalaureate school in the coming year.
Our students are extremely hard workers and dedicated to academic study as well as the betterment of our local, state, and world community.
My Project
These resources are essential to the proper function of a budding music program. The portability and amplification of piano has many uses in our community and program such as: jazz band, individual study, performance, in-class demonstrations, and as a teaching aid. Not only will in-class teaching benefit from these resources but extra-curricular activities will have access to popular means of music making.
The study of music is important to individuals on many levels, whether academic or personal.
Music is shown to not only improve a student's learning in other subjects but also develop an appreciation for a source of entertainment and dedication of activities that permeate our culture.
Music is all around us at all times (iPods, radio, television, movies) and should also be present in our school communities. Please support us as we grow our music program and introduce personal music making.
