Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Did you believe in superheroes as a child? Our school's students love them, but we don't have ANY superhero books!

Our school is in a highly diverse, urban area.

The students are extremely bright and love to learn, but they often do not have access to books anywhere other than our library. Our faculty and staff are seeking to instill a love of reading for life.

My Project

The library has a nice quiet corner that could be turned into a cozy reading nook with a good shelf and some comfortable seating. The superhero books will be kept on this special shelf, and students will be able to curl up and read for pleasure during library time, before or after school, and during lunch.

Our students love books, but they want interesting ones that capture their imagination.

We have a superhero poster on the wall, and everyday students ask for superhero books. Unfortunately we do not have any right now. By giving them the books they are desperate for as well as a nice place to settle down and read them, we could show our students how important reading for pleasure is.
