This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

A typical day in my AP classroom includes a variety of students who come from all walks of life. I want my students at the end of the school year to walk away with a broader knowledge of environmental science and use up to date equipment.

My AP environmental science kids are from all parts of the world and some have never even been out of the city they live in.

They are smart, focused, and some are very outgoing and social. They want the ability to learn and earn college credit at the end of the school year. Our school is diverse with many nationalities and customs. I want them to succeed and broaden their horizons to possibilities of seeing the world and the environmental science behind it.

My Project

The Vernier labquest units are a data collection device. We can connect different probes to test pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen, and many more of the like. The charging stations will allow the units to stay charged up and not have to be plugged in. The book is to help with labs for me the teacher in ways to help the students. These tools will be used for labs that include water quality testing, soil tests and pH labs.

Donations for this project will allow my AP students to work in groups smaller than 6 or 7.

It will give them a real world college lab experience. These tools can be taken out into the field for labs and we do not have to be connected with a power cord. .
