Diana Oblinger's quote states, "There are a lot of positive uses to the technology in the classroom. The ultimate objective is to find the right path to encourage learning." This applies to all learning. With 3 Osmos and boogie boards for center work, I know I could produce great lessons!
I have been a Pre K teacher for a few years now.
I teach at a Pre K-5th grade feeder school. Parental support is a positive factor in our town. Our local school has five hundred and forty four students. I currently teach Pre K students who are eager to learn and work in centers every day. Our school is one in the district that focuses on technology integration with the students daily. I truly am fortunate to work in a school that strives for technology resources in our classroom. We are always looking for new ideas to enrich and enhance technology based interactive lessons. Our technology leader has already created a great OSMO page on our school website to guide the group. The three Boogie Boards would also be used for our center work.
My Project
As a Pre K educator, I see how students enter school on a new level in terms of technology. They embrace it faster than ever before. Osmos are new tools on the horizon and I know I could create creative and productive lessons for my Pre K students. First of all, what is an Osmo? According to their site, "Osmo is a unique gaming accessory for the iPad that comes with games that will change the way your child plays." I also would like boogie boards for centers. I've researched both devices and I know the Osmos and boogie boards will bring together a multitude of Pre K skills in my classroom. My plan would be to use these in centers for eye/hand coordination, higher order thinking skills, tangram activities and ELA (letter) lessons. I am interested in using these Osmos with our new iPads. As with the Osmo devices, the Boogie Boards would be great for writing, drawing and other creative experiences. I could create activities meshed with reading, art, and math activities using these six devices.

The objective is to find the right path for students and learning." I agree with that. With these six devices in my centers, I know I will find awesome ways to implement Osmo and Boogie Board lessons for my Pre K students. My students are truly ready to take on this journey with your funding. Will you help bring these six items to my Pre K students?
