"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go" - Dr. Seuss. My students come to school every day eager to hear their favorite stories. A classroom listening center and will give my students the opportunity to read various text alone.
My ESOL (English Second Language) students are in the third grade.
Many of my students were born in other countries. There are over 15 different language groups in my school. The students are motivated, enthusiastic and eager to learn. Many of my students come to school with Limited Formal Education in their first language. They look forward to learning something new every day!
My students come to school every day ready to explore a new book. We would love to add a listening center to our ESOL classroom. The addition of a listening center will greatly improve my student's reading skills. This heavy-duty listening center will allow my students to enjoy books and music on cassettes and CD's. The classroom listening center can be used with plug-in and wireless headphones. The fluency skills will enhance my student's reading fluency. Students will learn to read with fluency, accuracy and expression with listening centers that focus on essential skills. Students follow along and listen to passages and then have the opportunity to practice themselves. Fluent readers are better readers.
Your donation to our classroom will expose my English Language Learners to resources that will improve comprehension and fluency.
Students will be able to enjoy having text dictated to them. My English Language Learners' literacy skills will improve with the help of a classroom listening center and fluency skills listening center.
