My Students

I love the quote by Diana Oblinger that states, "There are a lot of positive uses to the technology in the classroom. The ultimate objective is to find the right path for students to maximize learning." As a teacher, that is my goal!

I am a teacher at a Pre K-5th grade school.

We are a tight community that works together. Our parental support is so amazing! Our local school has about 550 students. Teaching is something I truly enjoy. I love working with my adorable 1st grade students.

My Project

Even though I am a new teacher, I know the importance of individual student levels. With an iPad, my students could work in independent iPad centers to help with skills, such as comprehension, phonics, math and more. I was just told that my school set up an iPad Website a year ago to help parents find apps to assist with skills at home. There is one link that shows free apps. My plan is to begin using those apps and hopefully I can find funding later to help add to my reading iPad collection. The benefit of having iPads is how quickly students adapt to using them. We live in a world that truly embraces iPads and tablets. I would use that to benefit growth on a daily basis. With an adapter, I could connect the ipad to my projector. I would love a cover to protect the Ipad as well.
