The school my students attend is a Title 1 school in a Title 1 urban district. 90% of the students at my school are on free and reduced lunch. But we set high standards and expectations for our students, and they continue to meet those expectations. We are a community based school, meaning that the students all come from the surrounding neighborhood. I teach ESOL for grade K-5. My students represent a variety of diverse cultures. But what they all have in common is that they are working to grasp and understand the English Language on a daily basis.
